What's in a name?
Spirit Gate (Shen Men in Chinese) is an acupressure point on the Heart Meridian. It's used to treat a
variety of issues, both physical and emotional, and I chose it as the name for my practice because it represents the way I view our health and wellbeing. Our bodies are very often capable of healing themselves and massage therapy, combined with other complementary therapies, can aid that process.
My training at the East-West Healing Arts Institute in Madison, Wisconsin integrated both Eastern and Western modalities. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the approach to treating disease is to treat the whole person. We achieve optimum health only when our bodies, minds and spirits are balanced and in harmony. Acupressure and Tui Na (Chinese massage) are integrated into my practice along with Western style massage therapy, combining the best of both worlds. It is my goal to help my clients achieve and maintain their best health using this holistic approach.
It is my pleasure and privilege to help you on your healing journey.
